What Inspired You to Become a CrossFit Coach?

I joined CrossFit after having an issue with eating disorders and anxiety for 10+ years… By joining I found a place where I cared about what my body could do and how to fuel it. As cliche as it sounds, coaching gives me an opportunity to give back to the sport that really did save me, and support people on their own journeys!

MARTYN CANDLER

Coach

What Inspired You to Become a CrossFit Coach?

I started CrossFit with the mindset of "I'll give it 6 weeks and see what I think" that was back in 2019 - and I'm still doing it.
I guess I wanted to give back what CrossFit had given me and that is a sense of belonging.
I was dreading retirement from the fire service. I would be losing a big part of my life, routine and a family.  Joining CrossFit provided the perfect replacement for all this. Time to pay it back.

Qualifications

CrossFit Trainer Level 3
PT Level 3
Diploma in Sports Massage
Advanced first aid

What’s Your Proudest CrossFit Moment?

Passing my Level 3.  I didn't like school, couldn't wait to leave and do something interesting. I'm not the kind of person who finds studying easy. So for me to get Level 3 is a massive achievement

Loves

deadlifts and snatch

Hates

double unders
